Firm Bulletin: Improved Uploads, Case Views, and Stats: What’s New in the Firm Portal

OBSI is pleased to announce the latest round of firm portal enhancements, now available to participating firms. Our updates aim to further improve the portal experience by focusing on features firms value most, including document upload improvements, additional information in the cases list, and new case statistics. In addition, key OBSI contacts are now able to access firm views to facilitate discussions and improve user support. We developed these enhancements to respond directly to feedback we heard from our participating firms through discussions and our 2024 Firm Survey.

The firm portal enhancements include:
  • Improved document upload experience – Users can now upload .wav files and multiple attachments up to 500 MB in size. The portal will now shorten longer file names and replace any forbidden characters automatically, removing common frustrations for firms. If users try to upload an unsupported file type, the portal will now provide a clear message explaining upload failure.
  • Additional fields on the Cases List – The Opened Cases and Closed Cases list views now display columns for the case outcome and OBSI case type (e.g., investigation, reconsideration). Users can now filter and sort lists using these fields.
  • New Case Statistics reports and consolidated view for related firms – All firms can now see an updated set of quarterly and annual case statistics reports. Users can select one or more of the current and previous four fiscal years or quarters. For firms within a related firm group, users can also choose to view consolidated case statistics for their related firms in the same industry sector. The data in these reports will be refreshed each quarter.
  • OBSI internal users – OBSI internal users can now access firms’ data in the portal to facilitate discussions and provide user support. OBSI internal users will now appear as Firm Contacts on the Firm Profile page.
We expect to launch another round of portal enhancements in late August 2025, focusing on improved access to file information, including OBSI closing letters and firm delay days, as well as access to historical invoices.

All OBSI participating firms have access to the firm portal through a secure link from our homepage at www.obsi.ca.
