Who does ReachDeck help?

ReachDeck helps website visitors who require online reading support and those who simply prefer to listen to information instead of reading it. Those with print disabilities, such as dyslexia or mild visual impairments, and those with English as a second language find ReachDeck particularly useful.

How do I get ReachDeck?

Click on the ReachDeck icon that appears on the bottom left of this webpage to launch the ReachDeck toolbar then simply click any text to hear it read aloud.

Current browser

Your regular Internet browser has built-in features to make reading easier and more accessible. The accessibility settings are helpful to people with visual difficulties, hearing loss, discomfort in their hands or arms, or reasoning and cognitive issues.

Depending on your browser, you can:

  • zoom in on a Web page to magnify text, images, and controls on the page
  • change text size and font style
  • set up a style sheet to format documents to your preferences
  • choose or ignore colours used on Web pages making them easier to see by changing the text, background, link and hover colours
  • maintain operating system preferences, like high contrast mode and colour preferences so they work in your browser
