STEP 1

OBSI is Canada's trusted independent dispute-resolution service for consumers and small businesses with a complaint they can't resolve with their banking services or investment firm.

While we can only investigate complaints about firms that participate in our service, most banking services and investments firms in Canada do participate in OBSI.

OBSI can look at your complaint if:

  • your firm has had 90 calendar days to deal with your complaint but has yet to provide you with its final response, or
  • your firm gave you its final response on your complaint but you are still unsatisfied. Once you receive the final response, you have 180 calendar days to bring your complaint to OBSI.

Unfortunately, OBSI may only investigate complaints involving our participating firms. The firm you have a complaint with will be able to inform you of next steps, if any. We regret we couldn't be of more assistance.
