As an integral part of Canada’s financial services consumer protection framework, we help consumers navigate a complex and often confusing financial system. Each year we receive thousands of questions and complaints from Canadians who contact us about a broad range of challenges that they’re experiencing. We respond to these consumers with information and assistance, and approximately 15% of these inquiries become OBSI cases. 

The data below is reported and displayed using the OBSI fiscal year, which runs from November 1 to October 31. To view the data for a specific timeframe, please select the date range you wish to isolate.
